An Outpatient Cancer Treatment and Rehabilitation Center in Metro Manila
NOUN. Healing / Closure of a Wound
Cancer is the third leading cause of death and sickness in the Philippines. It is one of the rising public health concerns of the country, as there are 11 new cancer cases reported every day. The project is an outpatient treatment cancer treatment and rehabilitation center that aims to go for a holistic design approach by providing a space wherein patients can go for not only healing physically, but also emotionally. It is a place where they can come together with their families, friends, and the community for support, information, treatment, therapeutic, and rehabilitation services. Its goal is to become a safe and welcoming space where cancer patients can go to.
It acts similar to a community center in the sense that it is open to anyone who wants to be part of the therapeutic process the patients are going through, even just by being there for them. The project aims to accomplish all of its objectives through architecture by designing every inch of the center in ways that will make it a healing space; one that is most beneficial to the health of the patients.
